We are beyond thrilled to announce that Très Awesome will be contributing Chicago street style to the Elle.com newly launched Global Street Chic section.
Kortnee Quiza of 7th Market (2nd from the right) looks incredible on Elle's homepage. She's wearing Drapes earrings by the wonderfully talented Chicago accessory designer Ashley Scott.
These are the cities currently represented. Chicago looks pretty damn good, no? You're probably asking yourself, "who's that purdy lady standing next to the Chicago Theater sign?" That's Chelsea Lavin director of sales at C/FAN, see Chelsea's whole photo on Elle.com. Be on the look out for new cities being added in the weeks to come, as well as more photos from yours truly
Local vintage dealer Erin Oldenburg looks stunning here in shades of yellow. View all 10 of my looks on Elle.
Wowza! Caroline looks insanely beautiful here with her matching red lips and tights. She's wearing a Nanette Lepore dress, D&G leather jacket, and Billykirk bag. Caroline is one of my dearest friends and it was wonderful catching up with her over the past couple of days. Look for a post that focuses on her adorable and very smart blog For Like Now in the coming week.
I am obsessed with this African beaded necklace. My friend Maggie McCoy (the owner of the lovely Bagel on Damen in Chicago) had it for awhile, got sick of it, and then gave it to me. I proceeded to wear it basically everyday. It's time for a new owner so I left the necklace in San Fran with Caroline. Wear it well C!
Not the most comfortable of shoes, but they sure do look good. Sometimes you gotta suffer for fashion dahling.
I was waiting in line at Tartine Bakery at the early hour of 8 am this Saturday (I have never not waited in line at this over-the-top delicious eatery). I noticed a stylish couple walk up behind me. I just happened to have my camera with me so I asked the woman if I could snap her pic. After we were done we exchanged cards and it turns out she is Mod Cloth founder Susan Gregg Koger! Despite the early weekend hour she looks fabulous in her Dear Creatures shirt, Free Bird Jacket, and Jeffery Campbell Shoes. All from Mod Cloth of course!
The sailor tie on this shirt from Dear Creatures is SO sweet. Check out more items from Dear Creatures on Mod Cloth.
"Life is a Cabaret" is the title of these Jeffery Campbell peep toe sling backs. Indeed it is! I love the men's wingtip inspiration. Get your very own pair on Mod Cloth now.
Also can we talk about his clothes. I've never seen a young person with such a sophisticated take on personal style. I spoke with his mother (who takes him out to play on the street regularly) and she said he studies menswear designers on the internet, particularly Ralph Lauren. It definitely shows. Gabriel looks like he just walked off the set of a kids Polo ad. Oh and did I mention he has a blog? Read all about about Gabriel Angelo here.
Stephen looks ultra-cool in this high collared coat with his Filson bag and oversized sktech books.
I love these bright Nubuck shoes and how he's just hacked off the hem of his jeans.
Meghan designs jewelry under the label Cities in the Dust. I love this poncho harem pant combination.
Her work is organic and brutally elegant. Take a look at Kate from Outfit Chicago looking gorgeous wearing these pieces in a post from last month.

Tatiana is an Account Executive for the lines J Cooper, Drew, and Samantha Dru. I spotted her while visiting Kate Nardo of Outfit Chicago at Style Max. She looks fetching here in a Drew faux fur Jacket and single feather earring.
LOVE these charms. High Times chic at it's finest.
Ashley Scott is the designer behind the incredibly cool accessory label Drapes. She's a knock-out in her coordinating purple lipstick and radical plated head piece from her Spring line. Look for a more in-depth designer profile of Ashley and her work in the coming months.
Amber is an associate at the Lily Kate Showroom. They represent awesome labels such as Strong & Dickerson and Young Fabulous and Broke
She was turning heads all up and down the avenue in her Modern Amusement Shirt and Vintage Levi's Shorts.
Amber's vintage Chanel belt and Melanie Dizon Purse are the bomb.
Tagerine nails and rings by low luv and Sheila Fajl
Chicago's very own Karyn Dethrow of Dethrose Vintage will be selling her fabulous wares alongside the countries finest vintage dealers.
Frankly, you'd be a fool to pass up this sartorial stroll down memory lane. Modern Vintage Chicago runs this Saturday and Sunday from 10-5 at 1340 W. Washington. Check out all the details here.
Designer Rosina Mae Turner knows how to rock some neon accessories.
Perhaps this is because she's had some practice creating these HOT pool-side looks in a rainbow of bright spandex. Take a look at more Rosina Mae Turners work here.
Tonight was the 3rd installment of Chicago's very own fashion reality series So You Wanna Be a Designer, hosted by Debbie Jagel and Issac King. The show is conveniently filmed right down the street from my house at Wells and Huron at The Kenmore Live Studio. Monica Dimperio of The Midwasteland was a guest judge and Thakoon made a very special guest appearance and showed four of his own looks.
Thakoon's clothes use feminine detailing and flourishes in ways that are unexpected and not overtly girly.
Here is his take on moccasins with heels.
